139: Got a business idea? Start here!

You’ve had an idea for a business for a while. You’ve probably done some research and have a product in mind. But what does it really take to launch a business, add value to others, and make money?

I admit I am not an expert at starting up businesses, but lucky for the both of us, there are people who are! I came across a training that will help you determine if entrepreneurship is for you. It’s called the 5 Day Lead Challenge and it’s free!

The training is hosted by the founder of a company called ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson. ClickFunnels sells software to build small websites to use with your marketing and sales efforts. The training serves as a lead magnet for their company. But don’t let the absence of a price tag lead you to believe this training isn’t jam-packed with useful information.

The 5 Day Lead Challenge is comprised of five videos, all around an hour long. There is an actionable step at the end of each video. The first day introduces the framework and discusses the importance of leads, aka potential customers!

Even if you just watch the first day, you’ll get a lot of ideas for your next steps to get your business up and running.

I will warn you, Russell Brunson is a fast talker. I mean fast. No way are you going to be able to watch this on 1.5x speed (you can try I suppose, maybe you listen faster than I do!). When I first started following Brunson I thought he was just out to make money. After listening to his podcasts and taking a few trainings, my new understanding is that he wants to help us get our products and services out to the people who will benefit from them. If people don’t know about your product or service you can’t add value to them. The 5 Day Lead Challenge gives us a framework for getting our products and services to the right people.

You don’t have use ClickFunnels or buy anything to benefit from the training. Learn the framework and take a step or two to explore the potential of your business idea. If you’re not sure or just starting out this challenge is a great place to start. It’s not a huge commitment, it’s free, and it delivers a lot of actionable information.
