I was always good at math and science in school. I didn’t even know what engineers really did, but the field sounded like a good match for my talents.

I ended up with a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering, focusing on signal and image processing. This landed me a career as an embedded software engineer.

One day I found myself on a small development team and our manager asked for status. I gave the status. He then asked for a plan, so I helped coordinate with the team. Well, I ended up slowly transitioning to a project manager role.

I eventually became a full-time project manager, working with software, electrical, and mechanical engineers. I also coordinated with field service, tech writers, and manufacturing.

When first thinking about taking on a project management role, my manager gave me The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey to read. This book changed the course of my life. It caused me to ask myself who I wanted to be, and motivated me to start working towards being that person.

I found that as I grew my knowledge and practiced the new concepts and skills I was learning, people started asking me for advice. I wanted to share with others so I started coaching young engineers. These talented engineers tell me I have a heart for helping engineers explore their potential. They wonder why these concepts aren’t taught in school, since these are so useful in and away from work.

Indeed, I am honored to come alongside you, to introduce you to the concepts and skills I’ve gathered over the last couple of decades (and am still gathering). You have more potential than you know! By spending some time in “Quadrant 2” (as Covey coined), you can start engineering your life, and discover potential you don’t even know you have.

I truly wish you all the best.
